Pattern: Comp Book Cover
Fabric: Robert Kaufman Essex Yarn Dyed Linen Blend (denim blue) and a dark grey lace
This combo of blue linen plus gray lace overlay? I think it works!
I stitched the lace to some of the fabric pieces with matching grey thread: the cover, small pocket, and flap pieces. The thread almost completely disappears into the lace and linen, which is nice. And per the pattern, I applied SF101 interfacing. After sewing all the layers together, I trimmed linen/lace layer from the seam allowance, reducing the seam bulk quite a bit.
I love how crisp the linen looks. I really didn't have to press it with the iron very much at all!
Now I have a comp book cover that matches a bag I've made...the Sophia Carry-All by Amy Butler.
I love how this fabric swatch magnet board is both a helpful tool and a piece of art on its own. It looks so good in my sewing room!
Ah, Endor. Beautiful ancient trees. Rebels and troopers on speeder bikes...
